He's not going to tell Mat the creatures are from a movie franchise, if only because he doesn't think Mat would understand the concept, but even from the movie itself they were still something exotic if he remembered correctly.

And who knows. Maybe there is a world out there where they truly existed.

But he definitely didn't come here for the animals, or the rainbow trees.
