A lot of people stay here at the inn. Mags has an arrangement with most of us that exchanges room and board for labor around the place until we can get our feet under us. And there's always plenty to do around here, so you're golden if the arrangement works for you. Outside of that, you have a few options. There's always enlisting, of course, but most of us are pretty skeptical of that in general. There are always merchants and traders and craftsmen looking for help around town, whether that's working for them or running errands, transporting supplies, whatever. There's also a lot of coin in bounty hunting to fill in the gaps. [ He gestures with his thumb towards the door, indicating the desert beyond. ] Lot of bandits and nasty things scuttling around out in the sands that prey on the caravans and trade routes, so there's a nice reward for helping to keep them safe.
As for money, they mostly call it coin here - at least I haven't heard it called anything else, although there's also quite a bit of trade and barter that happens too. They're pretty understanding about us all showing up here with nothing and how it takes us a bit to get a handle on things. Opinions on Summoned shift a lot. Depends on what's happening, to be honest, and that might differ depending on the faction. Here they're mostly fine with us as long as shit around us doesn't get too weird and we're a help rather than a hindrance. Public opinion can always change in dark times, however, so we do what we can to stay on their good side.
As for weapons, there's a few blacksmiths and merchants around town who will probably cut you a decent deal when you have the coin. There's also a Summoned here in Cadens, name's Jayce, he crafts some really nice ones and he's a good person to go to, if he has the time to craft you something.
