week 1

i. awakening (open to one)
[Aloy is not so rattled by the kidnapping that she doesn’t remember what happened, but there is a definite blank between the struggle with the strange hooded people in the forest and waking up here. It takes her a moment to get her bearings, though the emphasis is on moment—Aloy realizes very quickly that she is in a confined space, there’s something organic about it, and she doesn’t want to stay here a second longer than she needs to.

She feels along the walls until she can determine something soft enough to put her fist through. In the process, however, she realizes she isn’t alone.
]

Hey, come on.

[Whoever’s in here with her gets a nudge on the shoulder, one that becomes increasingly forceful if she doesn’t get a response right away.]

I can break us out of here, but you need to get up.
ii. investigations
[Once the frankly disturbing experience of crawling out of some kind of fungus pod is behind her, Aloy can start to assess the situation. This is not the first time she’s been kidnapped and held captive, but she’s usually a little quicker to take care of the problem. With magic in the mix, however, things are a little more difficult, to say nothing of the fact that this pit is full of civilians and people who are, perhaps, less comfortable in survival situations. She’ll have to approach this strategically. Find a weakness, or some other advantage she can exploit, and then make he move.

Resolving to leave no stone unturned, Aloy explores every nook and cranny she can find, sometimes squeezing into crevasses she probably shouldn’t. More often than not she comes away with decaying body parts (yuck), but as the days pass she can be seen taking improvised tools and weapons inside. It’s entirely possible she’ll try to dig her way out, if she has to. If you’re of a similar mind, well, she won’t say no to the help.

Ultimately, however, she finds herself returning to the strange shrines that look like they’ve grown out of the earth.

Do you recognize this symbol?

[It’s not one of the major arcana, though Aloy has admittedly spent little time familiarizing herself with them. She’s interested, too, ]
iii. surviving
[The good news (if she can even call it ‘good’), is that Aloy is more than accustomed to having to scrape by in worse situations than this. The more time passes, the more dire the situation seems, so she tries to focus on small things, like securing food and water for those too hurt and exhausted, hunting down the stray rodents and snakes and cooking them for those who can’t. It takes time away from her quest to memorize the comings and goings of the acolytes and find some kind of structural weakness in the pit, but Aloy understands the value of keeping others alive.

When all of that is done, however, Aloy stays vigilant. She’ll most often be found on some outcropping of rock, up off the slime molds and plant detritus, quick to spring into action with a makeshift spear if there’s any sign of monster activity.

More often than not, however, she’s watching the Acolytes—it’s probably not hard to guess that she’s weighing when and where to make a move.
