Laura isn't being dismissive, not exactly, it's more that she genuinely doesn't know what her end goal is here. A rock isn't a knife, no matter how sharp, and Laura was only ever decent with them at best, anyway.
Still, she's guessing that the question is more literal than existential, so after a moment Laura shrugs and lifts the rock to examine what kind of edge she's managed to grind down.
"A weapon, I guess." she doesn't mean to sound quite so grim and resigned as she says it, but it comes out that way anyway. "I don't think those robe guys are just going to leave us to our own devices down here for the rest of our lives."
