Unfortunately for Lenore, it's not one of the esteemed siblings or a member of nobility that she runs into in the hall outside the office. Lestat is lurking around for not a dissimilar reason than her, though he's much more keen on Hayle's duchess than anyone else. In the little time he'd been able to read about this land, Hayle had caught his eye, and he won't deny that it'd be nice to charm his way there and out of Castle Thorne.

Of course, his suddenly personal interest in the situation of missing persons also makes him keen to hear what's being discussed behind closed doors. He recognizes another eavesdropper when he sees one, and he offers Lenore a casual smile from where he's lounging against a wall.
