He probably wouldn't have been able to do that himself.
On the other hand, it means getting down from the ledge had been a piece of cake for the guy, whereas Jack... Well, for as scrawny as Jack is, he has some decent upper body strength. The problem really lies in the fact that he has a prosthetic leg, and that one of his hands is missing a pinky. Climbing is not what you might call his forte.
