The effectiveness of that slime coat is beginning to wear off and as it does, Blake finds himself a little more positively oriented. Still, it takes him twice to push off the wall and get moving again. He's shuffling, expecting Jayden to follow along. There's only one direction to go right now and it's away from the pods.
"The city's the same," he croaks, gulping back further urges to gasp and choke. "Everyone's lookin', everyone's scared." He's holding off coughs, too, stifling them painfully so as not to bring more attention down on the two of them. He just needs to find somewhere safe — safe enough — and then he can see about what he needs to do next.
Blake feels along the wall as he goes, gathering filth. Are there crags enough to hide things? Are the rocks able to be napped into weapons? He's thinking too much about the wrong things and looks to the other man, asking, "What's your name? I'm— My name's Blake."
