The strange momentum of the moment has Blake feeling all that much more off-kilter. Statistically speaking, there have to be at least a few cops with the same last name, but it feels too pointed, too on the nose. A flare of paranoia makes him want to run, but he couldn't even if he tried. And anyway, why would this guy save him only to dangle weird facts in his direction?

"Jayden," he repeats, nodding, committing it to his addled memory. He would normally put it down on paper — a habit he's taken to since arriving and a hold out from his job — but he's working on base memory alone.

"You're an investigator then?" Blake is on the move, curious but not so much that he'll stall their already slow progress.
