The Horizon is useful in that it lets them test their current theories without wasting resources or destroying machinery in the real world, which is what finds them both here as they close in on the improved surveillance birds and trackers. The familiar setting of the lab helps too, and as soon as they make enough progress here, Viktor and Jayce will go back to Cadens and prove their theories.

This is, however, an unexpected development.

Jayce sees Kell first, but Viktor is not too far behind, prompted out of his chair by Rio. Soon, she's nudging him closer too, providing a solid surface for him to lean on, though it's difficult not to rush to Kell as Jayce is doing.

"You still have access to the Horizon?"

He sounds more surprised than relieved.
