thedevilwhorose: (you're a bedtime story)

It's easy to look saner than Lucifer. She could be spouting obscenities and juggling flaming swords and look saner than Lucifer.

Few people would willingly walk into this scenario with Lucifer; fewer people would likely have some semblance of safety doing so. But not only is Natasha helping maintain all the cross-faction communication, adding to her already-existing value, but she has some relation to Wanda.

Like Yennefer, Wanda's a person he doesn't want to get on the bad side of. Especially when he..... already might be.

That's a problem for another day.

Right now, Lucifer is all sharp edges and frost, pushing away from his wall and stepping up behind Natasha like a lion on the prowl. A shadowed presence with some vague edges of life to it. Lucifer hasn't yet found the need to push more than that, even if he's itching to get his hands dirty.

"Have you ever done any dealings with people wearing masks with keyholes as eyes?" Lucifer asks in a lull, and the man's eyes jerk to him in the background for a moment before trailing back to Natasha's smile--not warm but still warmer than anything else in the room. Answer her, she might protect him. Keep talking through the easier questions and maybe it'll be fine. Just ignore the blood on the floor.

"There's--there's always people with weird masks and the like in my line of work. It's the standard. Hide identities and all that." His gaze hops and lingers again towards Lucifer, sinks distractedly to the floor, and returns to Natasha. Not a tell, just uncomfortable. "That one doesn't ring a bell."
