Jesper is already taking cover by the time Sam says it and he's counting the attackers at they come, fully focused on the active threat rather than everything else. But he does glance over for a moment since apparently people didn't hear the take cover warning, and he curses because it makes them become bigger and bigger targets. He doesn't see what the actual conflict is because he now has to worry about covering the lot of them. That's what Jesper is always good at. Being the cover.
"Fuck. Close your eyes, Nadine." She's still in wolf form and that makes her even more of a risk in this situation. Jesper runs forward, a risk that does include a bullet slamming into his chest but falling off the corecloth. He puts his hands down on the ground and focuses. He reaches out to all of the dirt and small rocks on the surface of the earth, he feels them, and pulls them right out to shoot up into the sky.
The intention is to cause a sudden attack of dirt flying right into the eyes of their attackers, blinding some of them and buying them time, the air hard to see through for a few seconds out in the desert as he tries to pick a few off with his blades. But he can't do this all alone.
