[ There is a lot going on--a lot of very dangerous and important matters to attend to. So many are still missing and though they are making headway, until their lost friends are recovered, it will amount to nothing. Nothing short of success will be acceptable.
And yet...she can't help but feel a little excited. When Himeka approached the Council again, she hadn't been sure what to expect. She's plenty suspicious there is more going on behind closed doors than they will ever admit to, but she had hoped that Rowan being candid with her before about Josselyn Creed's distancing of herself was an indication that what Himeka had to share wouldn't be a surprise--people are suspecting Solvunn behind this.
It was leverage, to propose that Solvunn open it's doors would help them get to the bottom of it, but she was leaning on the desire to still appear neutral and maintain some goodwill with the world at large. Whether or not that was the reason, it worked. (And Himeka almost felt like a politician herself.)
Summoned don't get to easily travel across faction borders. The fact that she helped facilitate it feels like a step in the right direction, but the fact that several friends are making their way into what has become her home is, well, a little exciting.
A part of her wants to make a good impression, especially to the people she cares about the most. She knows that Thancred and G'raha are here on business and that they need to get to work as quickly as possible, but she can't let the opportunity pass by.
That's why she puts on some of her nicer clothes and waits by the portal in the morning, holding her sign like she's waiting to pick up relatives at the Airship Landing.
She's early, but luckily she doesn't need to wait for long. As soon as she sees a pair of familiar faces plop through the portal, she raises her sign up. Like she isn't one of the only people there waiting (other than volunteers to guard the portal on behalf of the Commune). ]
