[Jayden doesn't notice Blake watching, his surroundings dim and fading out between reality and a dark, storming forest. But when Blake steps forward and speaks, it's enough to get Jayden's attention, and although it's in a thankfully nonthreatening way Jayden still feels a momentary flash of paranoia and doesn't immediately process the offer.

Instead he just stares, silently, frozen aside from the shaking and heavy breathing for several seconds as he struggles to make sense of the situation. Blake looks terrible, not that Jayden has any room to judge, and although that isn't reassuring in itself it does put him slightly more at ease; like so many of the others, Blake probably went through the same thing he did, and that means that maybe he understands. Maybe he does want to help.

And if he doesn't, does it really matter at this point? What's the worst that can happen, and does Jayden really care if it does?

So, finally, he unsteadily holds the piece of bone out toward Blake in offering.]

They're... They're real, right?

[The thorns. He can't just be seeing things if Blake's offering to help.]
