Steve's conversation with Sam had to be brief as a result, exchanging as much pertinent information as he could before he'd been thrown out again, almost as if the Singularity was railing against his presence. Or it has something to do with the (presumably) magical warding that's in place in this cavern.

What it means is that they don't have much of an escape, save for the few hours of sleep they can manage here or there. Steve nods when Istredd double-checks his name. He wouldn't expect Summoned from the other factions to know him by face.

"A mage and a telepath. Can I assume you know Stephen Strange and Wanda Maximoff, then?" Stephen because he's a magic-user in the same faction, Wanda because she also has abilities that involve touching another's mind. And can probably speak telepathically too, if she wants. "And believe me," he adds with a scoff and shake of his head, "I get it. Normally there's no way I could have been grabbed like that, but..."

Whatever abilities they're using to weaken them, they're potent.
