Finding fewer and fewer options (and even less access to thinking of more), Sam casts off his brother, shoving Dean with the kind of force that shouldn't take him from his feet but should give them about an arm's length.

"Get to cover," Sam says through his teeth, pointing Dean towards Nadine, brooking no argument. He nods to Nadine — a silent plea that she watches Dean (but just as much that she watches herself) — and then he's skidding to a dusty halt right by Jo. She's up and moving and breathing and under normal circumstances that would be a miracle or a reason to thank God, but in this case all Sam can really do is thank her for being so goddamn tough.

Unraveling his bandana, he's quick to press it into Jo's hand, urging her to hold it to her face while he helps her along, trying hard not to think about how much blood there is. Dammit.

"You're okay," he lies, breathless and not able to allow Jo even a second to reel before he's moving them out of the line of fire. He's got to help Jesper and he's got the weapon to do it so he leaves Jo on the other side of a heavy boulder and then circles back around to go fight. They'll have to make do for now.
