"How morbid," she says, holding the word out for effect, the roll of her eyes saying all she wasn't of exactly how she felt about that. Stupid boy. She isn't surprised, but still.

She flicks her eyes up toward his and smiles softly. "I am still your Wraith," she points out quietly with a roll of one shoulder in a shrug. She doesn't mind if he still calls her that sometimes. Better Wraith than spider, given one is much more personal than the arm's length of the other.

She can feel the tension in his fingers, see the way it ripples across his shoulders, along the slope of his jaw. But he doesn't pull back. He doesn't ask her to stop. That feels like progress, still going in the right direction instead of backwards. She won't hope for it to last the whole time they're stuck here. Who knew how long that might even end up being, honestly.

"I know," she says softly on a sigh. "I'm worried too." He wouldn't handle it well. And as the week dragged on and she started realizing the people that were here, how many of them can tie a string that leads to Jesper, her heart only aches for him even more.
