"It doesn't, no," Lenore shakes her head, not at all bothered by the question. Honestly, she's still thrilled and relieved to be in a place where she can be openly herself. The humans don't particularly fear her, and there's no deep-seated loathing between their races. They may be wary or superstitious, but it's still an enormous improvement, relatively speaking. "I'm happy to talk about it. I mostly eat human food. I'm young, so that's easier for me. My heart beats, I breathe, I crave and retain heat. The older we get, the less any of those things are true. But I do need blood. Human blood is more powerful for me, possibly because our species are more similar. Animal blood is half as effective, so I need twice as much. Fortunately, like I said, they're not exactly using much or any of it, and there are a lot of animals needed to provide meat for a castle. I get plenty."
Really, she was spoiled back home in drinking almost exclusively human blood. Her sisters all had a love of conquest, in one way or another. Lenore hasn't touched a drop since she arrived here, and she misses it, but she does just fine on the cow's blood.
