( There are enough youths in here that Istredd has put the effort in to try and keep a stiff upper lip for them. He is in nearing a century old, if he's having a hard time, he can't imagine what would happen to a young and inexperienced mind in this situation. (It could very well be attached to that. He always assumed that the Summoners made certain that none of them could immediately use their abilities, or they would attack instantly and try to escape. Cutting them off right away is logical. Also they had to adapt to the Singularity's magic. It's hard to say at this point, but it is unnatural to be disconnected from Chaos here.)
