Even bracing himself for something to happen, Rhy is rather shocked by it in practice. She did say she would turn into bats, yet seeing it is entirely different from just hearing about it.

Rhy gasps aloud, and instinctively raises his arms, not because he logically thinks the bats that are Lenore will go for him, but because he's not too familiar with being in close proximity to animals and it really startles him.

After the initial shock wears off though, he watches her fly around, open-mouthed in wonder.

When the bats coalesce once more into a woman, Rhy actually claps.
