The darkness feels suffocating in a way that's unfamiliar to Claude. Enclosed spaces - not that anyone really enjoys them - normally don't activate worry in him. They'd be the kind of thing he'd explore curiously, like the tunnels back in their cavern which he hadn't minded, but here? The walls aren't touching them even if vines are, but it feels like they're closing in.

That is, until light suddenly returns.

It's not spectacularly bright but the suddenness of it after darkness seemed intent on keeping them closed in has Claude blinking to adjust while looking for the source. There's flames seemingly controlled by Wilhelm and he stares at them in wonder for a second, and whatever he was about to say dies on his lips when he turns to the spell's owner.

The expression or total lack thereof on Wilhelm's face activates a different fear. This one is familiar, unfortunately, from the aftershocks of battle when adrenaline fades away. He stares at him with concern in the flickering firelight then Claude moves to step in front of him as they walk, his back to wherever they're going as he grips the teen's shoulders. "Hey, Wilhelm. Great job with that because that's a huge help. How'd you learn how to do it?"

Grasping at anything to see if he'll get a response from something else to be focused on, his voice a level of calm which even surprises him, as if anything about this might help.
