That's not what I'm saying.

[ He can't argue with the Singularity considering there's too much they don't know about it - and that's even before the old gods from before get involved, or whatever it is that's going on here specifically after the ritual they were put through - but the rest? Prime debating material. ]

If it comes to that: turning your back on everything is a possible choice, sure. But anyone could make that one and it's a deeply boring option because of it. Just because you take on those responsibilities doesn't mean your choices end there and that you have to do whatever it is the same way generations have before.

Especially not if that's what everyone's telling you it should be like. That's not a good enough reason to give up on what you hope to do even if you have to make your own chance for it to happen.
