[ There's an anger that coils deep in Steve's gut at Wilhelm's words, but they're not directed at Wilhelm himself. It's anger at what's been done to them, at the fact that ghosts of loved ones are even being used as a means to pull them apart from each other.

Of course it's just a hallucination, but Steve can see that trying to convince Wilhelm of that right now will be a futile effort.

He hasn't missed the way the fire has flared up behind them, risking a glance over his shoulder. While it's been important to keep fires going here for cooking food and staying warm, Steve doesn't want anything to get out of control either.

He glances back to Wilhelm and slowly nods. His voice comes out calm and measured. ] Maybe he is. I can't speak to that. But if you've got some control over the fires in here, please, I'm asking you to try and calm down. I think we can both agree that burning this place down isn't the answer.

[ It'd be far too easy for this whole cave system to come ablaze and for everyone to die of smoke inhalation of all things. ]
