[ she can only hope for the same, really. but that's hardly on her mind - if there are consequences she will need to face, she can handle those after the other summoned have returned. after she knows they are safe. and she knows this is all just her getting sloppy, but again, she can't bring herself to care. for right now, the queen cares just as much as getting everyone home as she does - it is barely an inch, but yennefer will take the mile.

the discussion about the sap is an easier topic, and yennefer would honestly be fine to rattle off all the components and aspects of it if thancred really wanted to know. it doesn't really help with anything, doesn't really solve anything, but if it fills the space and makes yennefer feel more like something is actually happening then she supposes she can take that for the evening.

there's a small hint of a smile at his words, because it feels...nice, in its own way, to have that echoed back at her. because she will, she has to find a way - and there isn't any room for her to think of anything else. and she does know he is there to be called on, just as stephen is - people she isn't actually afraid to turn to, to have honest conversations about what can and can't be done.

but then thancred chuckles, and when she looks back to him, she watches him reach for her hand. if she needed to, she could have pulled away. she knows that's why he's telegraphing his movements so intensely. but when faced with that moment, when faced with the decision, she finds...she doesn't really want to. so thancred will be able to get his hand over her's, and she'll even shift her fingers just a bit in his grip. and then she sighs, and without giving herself time to overthink it, leans to the side and sets her cheek against his shoulder. lets out an exhale that actually feels like it releases some of that pent up tension in her. ]

I'll do my best. [ she says - a joke, though there isn't much energy behind it. ] Worse comes to worse, I'll let you know when I am and you can come join me.
