It's an enormous relief to be able to do something, to have a location to go to where the Summoned are known to be kept. But that also means that the tentative hope, the denial and uncertainty, it's all amplified in this moment of discovery, of not knowing whether one's friends are dead or worse. Lenore doesn't have many friends here yet, and is barely acquainted with most of those who were taken, but she's very fond of one of the kidnapped summoned in particular.
Her heart thunders in her chest--she's not dead, unlike some lore, and her organs still work: she eats, she breathes--as she searches for Gideon and doesn't see her. Perhaps she was already saved, perhaps she escaped with the rest, perhaps--
