Istredd may talk more these days than ever before, but discussing real things has not actually been a strength of his either. Avoidance is the name of the game for a slightly similar reason. Self-protection. Don't explain things and the answer or the reaction can't hurt you. He keeps expecting Lucifer to pull away or push away, physically and emotionally, so he is being greedy. Istredd is taking the seconds of closeness he's getting hungrily.
"Isn't that why we like each other? What would either of us do with a perfect person as a friend?"
Istredd might seem like the calm and sane one of the two of them, Lucifer the wildcard and Istredd painfully reasonable, but they're more alike than it seems at first glance. And all the ways they're different meld together somehow. He's felt so alone the past few weeks, and he used to love being alone. Or he thought he did. Now with his mind and warm feelings wrapped up in the angel in front of him, he thinks maybe that was a lie he told himself too.
He leans his forehead against Lucifer's, being selfish and bold, but why the fuck not at this point? It's just one more piece of contact, when they're wrapped up in other ways. He won't get this chance again.
"I'm sorry. For everything you'd want me to be sorry for. Don't move out."
