I love them RIP me

Istredd does have a brief moment of panic when Lucifer leaves and he doubts that is going to be over any time soon. While he hasn't actually been alone these past few weeks, people constantly around him, it felt that way. And he also doesn't feel safe despite claiming that they were now. The dreams he's had haven't been reassuring. Their connection stays strong though and it helps soothe him.

He goes back to the Horizon to write down everything they experienced in a book there. All the notes he can remember about the shrines and what happened when each one was open. His physical body remains where he said it would, but his mind keeps busy. Istredd notes the name of everyone he remembers there and what they accomplished, notes who escaped safely, and that everyone seems to be returned. It seems like the right thing to do, to have it written somewhere. Maybe the others will add to it later with what he missed.

Istredd is barely awake when Lucifer came back but he stubbornly refused to sleep until he did, or until he simply didn't have a choice. He smiles when he feels that relief and knows that things are going to be better now.

"Mmm?" He responds when Lucifer speaks, lying down and turning on his side to look at him. His eyebrows furrow when he says he was right, and then he narrows his eyes at him at that.

"You're lucky I only have this pillow so I'm not going to throw it at you." Also he is pretty sure it would hurt too much and he'd only likely get it a few feet away with how weak he is. So it would fall uselessly to the floor and they'd both get a laugh out of it.

But he does get some small satisfaction out of hearing that all the same. He was stronger than they thought. "Shut up and go to sleep."

They both need it.
