{ he'd been on alert that the french got pulled out of him, and the last time he recalled ever using it was in frustration. he'd become self-absorbed in the situation at hand, his concentration had slipped. it makes him grow silent, and he considers apologizing, but instead he stares at what the other is doing. his tone is dry, or it could be he's parched. he can handle it. }

I was too old when the boy scouts were formed.

{ it does take a hot minute, and louis has been patient in the past. the rush of having arrived to the wet tunnel is only just settling in, and he's forcing it to dwindle down. it won't show on his face. there is some solace, even louis is the stranger among them as he's noted, to have seen some of the folks he did interact briefly with have made it out of the pit - especially the kid steve. he recalls the pod prison before the fire forms, but soon enough the flame holds his full attention. his expression shifts into one of contentment as the fire begins to warm the area.

he thinks he feels the stir of his fire gift awakening, although still static. the last time he tried it had been to set a shrine ablaze, and after that it didn't come to him. }
