Kell recognizes Kyle's voice, feels the pressure of the snow covering him gradually lessen as Kyle methodically digs him out. Kell can really move, but the crushing weight is almost gone. He can breathe. Each inhale hurts, each exhale comes out with a wheezing sounds, like an old, creaky chair, but they are signs, signs that he's alive.

When tries to respond, the only thing that comes out of his throat is a wheezing inhale followed by a violent fit of cough. He must have breathed in quite a lot of snow trying not to suffocate.

"Kyle", he calls, but he barely manages to rise his voice above whisper before descending into another fit of cough.
