His tones are sharp and fierce and heated enough that alone might be enough to warm him. His gaze darkens, shaking his head as if he could deny those words.
"They have not taken you because it's not your actions now that matter but who you are after. You are watching what it takes to break apart that kind of damage and I won't have you as closed and guarded as I am. Even if I have to burn this entire place down myself," he snaps, but that dark scowl speaks as much as his words. He knows Jesper isn't lost. Not yet, but he could be. He's lost everything and Kaz knows how bad that can be.
"What you are doing is no one's business but yours, but who you are after is them taking you. Don't let that happen."
His scowl turns to a frown though at those words, letting Jesper lead him into their club.
"I'm fairly certain you being near me has been healing my mind for a long time and it has nothing to do with this place." It's an admission he might never had made without this place, but he can give those words to Jesper and mean them.
"Learning magic in a sitting," he marvels, shaking his head. "I've already managed one but I only realized it recently since we were taken. Words that can cut," he admits, trying to sound casual about it but he's fairly impressed with it. Of course that is something that came easily to him, he supposes. "So teach me more magic, Jesper. We should have been doing this sooner."
