Doing the right thing to get them both through this is not exactly Kaz's forte but that doesn't change that he's doing whatever it is he must for her sake. He's not leaving this place without her, and he's definitely leaving.

He nods at that, drawing her in close with that hold on their hands. Pulling her to him as he leans in to her. His lips brush her cheek despite his pain and fear of what is growing from him, in what they might have.

"Don't look back. Don't hesitate. Whatever is on the other side, we'll make it out of here and I know he's out there." He's met him in the Horizon. He's learned a warming spell that Jesper thought might help. He's there and he'll be there for them.
