It will be up to Sam, whatever happens, but Jayce is thinking through the problem, exactly as Viktor assumes. It's logical, next steps after grief, but they don't have the time to do that now. There is too much going on and they haven't even brought back Caitlyn and the others. Kell is out there too, but at least they're together, and Geralt is with them. He trusts Geralt and Ciri with the lives of others.

"I was already not a big fan of religion, but this really tipped me over the edge." Neither of them are religious or come from that background, Jayce had not thought about gods at all before coming here. He believes they exist obviously, he has seen it happen here with the heralds, but zealotry is deeply unsettling to him.

"Rhy, Lenore and I talked them down using their religion. And Wanda's very intimidating powers." Actually Jayce may have to talk to her about that later, because she seemed to be doing something a little different from what he knew of her chaos magic before. They all made it work though, as a team. "All of them still almost drowned." There was genuine terror for the group negotiating when they realized what was happening. Just a disaster from start to finish.
