It was almost odd for Jack how that phrase almost caused a stabbing in him. He KNEW Lucifer couldn't be trusted. He'd learned first hand how much his father could hurt him and yet those four simple words cut, and it showed on his face a moment. Jack's sad look grew as Lucifer went on. Yet, he kept his feet planted. "Why shouldn't it matter?" Not him, but any of it. "I am offering you a chance. One that they wouldn't approve of, and you know that if you know them. They are my family as much as you are."
He could still vividly remember Dean trying to keep Jack from talking to Lucifer on Apocalypse world. Lucifer hadn't seemed that bad then, before everything went to hell in a handbasket. He wouldn't have given Lucifer another chance here if not for how terrible Chuck was. Maybe Lucifer never had a chance.
Jack nodded softly when Lucifer answered, he had been studying the devil of a man pinching the bridge of his nose. "It wasn't fair to you, but that is in the past, father." He spoke softly, trying to sound wise instead of the half scared kid he was in that full-grown body. "I have to return to the free cities in time. Maybe in a week or so we could meet on the horizon?" It seemed safer than in person, at least for a while. Castiel and Dean wouldn't understand, but he wanted to know Lucifer. To see if it had all been Chuck. The worlds Lucifer had spoke in the apocalypse world ringing in his mind.
