"Don't say things like that when I can't tease you about biting my tongue for me." Jesper's smile is strained but he is trying to give them some semblance of normalcy. They cling to one another's hands and bodies and he doesn't know if the magic is working in here, if he is curing Kaz through his touch, but he hopes so. He knows that it is helping him a great deal, which is why he's clinging to him desperately.

"You're going to be a terrible student, but yes, of course." Jesper's control over his own Grisha powers is impressive for someone who has been teaching himself for the past year, but he's always been able to be good at something he puts his mind to. And it feels natural, he remembers what his mother showed him all those years ago. Using spells is stranger to him, but he had to learn a few, to be smart about it.

"Technically it's just the words, saying them precisely, but you do need to focus. You need to believe it will work, that the magic is in you." Jesper isn't sure if that's true here, or if everyone in Abraxas is born with magic so it is as natural to them as his own abilities. Which means that people who don't know it? Are struggling to believe it's even possible. That could hold them back, hold Kaz back.
