oversight: ([±] wassat?)

Blake's never met an office that isn't boring, at least in the most conventional senses. The business side of investigation — paperwork, follow-up calls, interviews — has never particularly interested him, but the rest feels pertinent in knowing who a person happens to be.

Are there rings in the coffee cup that say it's been hours in the drinking? Scribbled shorthand in the margins? Does the chair sit back with a squeak like it's been overused?

It's going to be curiosity that gets him in the Horizon before much else.

"And that's why you're here?" Rhetorical. Of course it is. Blake had been asked, begged, and finally warned that someone would be along to extol the virtues of the Horizon. "Fine. Okay. I give." And as he's struggling to sit more appropriately, he's criss-cross applesauce and patting the foot of the bed for Jayden. He's not about to meditate standing up, might as well get comfortable. "Let's do it."
