[ Claude's not normally one to fidget but he finds himself absently running fingers over his bandage while he contemplates what Geralt says, mostly because the wound being cleaned up enough's helped and because it's (relatively) nice to touch something that's not thorns. The Trials - that he hears as the ordeal the name seems to imply to him and considers that. If it wasn't for the issue of survival - and the low rate of it, just like with what Lysithea had been through - it could almost sound voluntary. But so few things like that, not that he even knows of many at all, ever involve someone willing. ]

Resilient. I suppose that's what they would have called Lysithea too. Or maybe they did. I didn't ask.

[ If he wasn't exhausted, maybe he could piece together a better response. Then again, maybe it's that exhaustion paired with his mind running in incomplete loops that reminds him of something else said once. Something that feels like a lifetime ago at this point and the sort of thing that might've been otherwise forgotten, but his mind has always been far too adept at holding onto finer details even if he doesn't quite grasp this one now.

Still. There's a second or two where he considers that when it feels meaningful that Geralt's extended something to him by mentioning it at all. ]

When you say they were killed, was it also as part of the Trials?
