Jesper isn't surprised in the least that the angle about commanding works well for Kaz. He can still use control in his life, especially now, so being able to command magic will keep that power in his hands. He smiles as he watches the fire come to life and looks at him through the flame.

"I'll teach you what I know, but I've always thought Grisha powers in your hands would make you unstoppable. Suppose it's time to find out." Jesper supports it. Kaz is going to need something to focus with at the other end of this. The fire will help him keep him and Inej warm until Jesper can get to them. He won't feel alive himself until they're back in his arms.

Jesper leans in and kisses Kaz very gently and quickly. "I'm coming for you. Take care of Inej. I'll be there before you know it."
