[ Steve has heard a number of times by now about the initial setup in Thorne, how some had been paraded around as welcome guests while others were thrown behind bars. One way or another, the summoning process seems to have been sorted out, though he's heard from Natasha of how much Thorne still feels like a cage.
Even if Sam had been welcoming to those who were treated as prisoners when given the chance to interact, Steve can only assume that Geralt had still been wary of him.
There's no real comment made one way or the other about Istredd, but Steve's briefly surprised when Bucky's name comes up yet again. He's aware that Bucky was here for a short period of time, early on, way before Steve himself had shown up. It sounds like he'd vanished from this world among all of the confusion of Summoned escaping, which must have made Sam pretty panicked.
And Geralt had helped him out. That would have been more than enough to cement a bond between them, at least on Sam's end. ]
He told me that Bucky had been here, but that he disappeared early on. In all the chaos, he probably assumed the worst about what happened to him.
[ Steve looks Geralt over, silent for a few moments, and then nods gratefully. ] I'm glad you were there to help him out. [ To be a friend, when Steve wasn't around.
They've been talking for a while at this point, though, and Steve figures that he's pretty close to overstaying his welcome. Like it or not, that fatigue is starting to settle in again too. He should probably get back to his bed before someone finds him out of it and then there's hell to pay. So following a stretch of his arms over his head, he gets to his feet, signaling his intention to head out. ]
