Nadine is well aware of this. Little alarm bells are ringing as Dean draws closer and she watches him carefully. It is him, she's rather certain, it feels like someone else is in her domain. It's not a terribly strong feeling, but it's there. After two years, she can at least feel another living person. Even if she couldn't identify them.
But it's not the Dean she knows. Not entirely. A few connections begin to form. She doesn't pull away, though.
"You're wrong about one thing." But only one, because Nadine can't deny that there is a dark part of herself. As he well knows. It's there, it's always been there. She may not feed it anymore, not in the ways she did, but it hasn't just gone away. It never really will.
"He didn't pick me. Some force even greater than him did. We were picked for each other."
