"There were acolytes involved," Lucifer adds, like that should help, like really that alone should explain the rest of the gaps in Istredd's put-together story. "He was between me and my target."

And there was already one dead acolyte at Lucifer's feet.

"A little minor stabbing wouldn't have done much to me, he knows that." Considering he slashed Lucifer. "But given we were dancing it could've been subtle enough to make a point."

He wasn't concerned for himself or a scene being made, basically.

"We're fine, anyway. I apologized to him before we left Nocwich and he took it in stride." He also never flinched when they were dancing, which was sign enough for Lucifer.
