Gideon's eyebrows hike high toward her hairline; her poor sword! That goes against correct sword care and maintenance! She pushes her initial response down inside of herself though; this guy has clearly never handled one before. He deserves to be given a break.

"I mean yeah, sure, that's one use for it I guess," she says, very patiently in her opinion, "but they're really made for like, hitting shit. Not me, though. I wanna make that part clear. We're on the same side, so we don't need to hit each other with anything. It's for hitting like...bad guys and monsters. You know, if they attack you."

He obliviously lowers the sword from his mouth, taking in her explanation thoughtfully. Especially the part about not hitting her with the weapon.

"I no hurt friend," he says slowly.

Bad guys and monsters is not particularly instructive or specific enough for him, though.

"Bad guy where?"

What do you want him to hit?

"Hmmmmm, good question," she says. She glances back over her shoulder, and as she does this two faceless figures begin to take shape behind them, each standing in a ready stance as though to fight.

"Those guys over there are totally planning to kick our asses if we don't kick theirs first."
