"Oh, that sounds very familiar." Nadine chuckles herself, with a wry little rolling of her eyes. "I was a teacher in my last life. And I've just always been the sort to keep busy, I guess. Idle hands the devil's work will do, and all that."

She had certainly heard that phrase enough growing up. Among others. It turned out that busy hands were just as likely to do the devil's work.

"But I do keep pretty busy here, too. Medical school is intense, a lot of my free time goes to studying. Which I do happen to enjoy. I like to learn things. And so much of what I'm learning is fascinating. Gardening, too. I know it's technically business, but I actually really enjoy doing it."

It's calming, and fulfilling, and comes with the benefit of being able to enjoy her own gardens.
