He's tempted to ask about the phone thing--cell phones exist in his time, including iphones, but they're not exactly ubiquitous and he's not sure how she'd get away with using one in school--but her last comment distracts him, and earns a genuine if subdued grin.

"I usually get away with the questioning a lot longer than that." So good on her for catching it; she might be one of the quickest to do so so far.
