[ Jesper feels the same way. He hadn't wanted Inej and Kaz to come. It didn't seem like something they should have to deal with, unless they thought it would help in some way. He doesn't know if it helped him at all. He's glad she's dead, and in truth, he liked her suffering. He is mostly back to his light-hearted self, but there is still that anger not entirely snuffed out. It'll take more time before that goes away. Going on a killing spree for weeks lingers.

He and Wanda are similar in that they've gone through suffering, but they wish they could protect their loved ones from it. Take it into themselves instead, protect them, but the world wouldn't let that happen. It was the wrong people who often ended up suffering. He turns his head to kiss the top of her head, being so much taller than her it's easy. ]

[ Jesper's lost a lot of trust in this world through this process. Maybe they were all getting too complacent. He doubts that the Free Cities military will kidnap any of them, but being afraid of the Summoned could keep them from being crossed easily. It is them vs everyone else at this point in his mind. ]
