Diana's brows rise at his observations, but--well, he isn't wrong. Losing hope would have been the easy choice after the attack on the city, but the people chose to rebuild instead. It's a choice she's glad they made and, in her eyes, really the only one. But she's also never been one to give up on anything, no matter the circumstances.

"I wouldn't say it's poisoned them. Many citizens of Libertas are still wary of Thorne, but they haven't let that overtake their lives." And after the factions had worked together to capture Josselyn Creed, she thinks that wariness, too, is beginning to ebb. She sips her wine. "The damage to the city was immense, and it seemed as if war might be on the horizon. But those who stayed started to rebuild anyway. It is admirable."
