When she pulls out the gold coin he figures she's just decided to add the canteen to one of her many bags, and so he's taken by surprise when she offers it to him instead.]

The fire butterfly is a neat little display, though he wonders how much other magic goes into it. But if fire's really so simple to learn that it's taught to children, maybe starting to learn magic himself isn't as much of a far off goal as it feels.]
