[ Hilda's wavering voice and pleas - something he's familiar with from listening to them many times - nearly get a grin from him now even after he'd narrowly resisted one at Sylvain's complaint that they're a menace as a set. Of course they are; it's a well-honed act they've used to level many an opponent. And while Sylvain isn't exactly in opponent territory, being a small obstacle to their plans certainly counts, doesn't it?

He's about to chime in just to double down on the 'shaming' of a lack of effort, but what Hilda says causes his expression to freeze on his face momentarily. The insinuation is loud and clear and there's something beneath it that feels important though alcohol pushes it out of his grasp. Or maybe he's reading too much into it also thanks to the alcohol, especially when Hilda grins his way and it's easy to flash the same grin right back.

And next, one clap of a hand on Sylvain's shoulder with a solemn look. Or what should be one if it wasn't for the grin threatening to take over it again, and then he steps back to lead the way to the cafe. ]
