"Alright, I should have said it's not all you are. Magic is integral to who I am too." A fact that became extremely relevant in the pit. Once his connection to Chaos was broken, when he had to struggle to be able to use any of it, he felt the most lost. Istredd didn't think he used it as frequently as other mages, and maybe he didn't, but he still used it constantly. It's what he is, what he was raised for.

"Chaos is in my blood. Only people born with it can become mages." That is more or less true here too, it's just that everyone is born with the ability. Some stronger than others, if they study, if they work hard. "It's why I will live hundreds of years and still look like this. I'm made of magic." He didn't change the way he looked like because he didn't need to, but he genetically is fundamentally different after. He won't age anymore, at least not for a long time. His body is framed with Chaos magic now.

"I wouldn't mind learning High Magic. Mostly so we have a chance at counteracting it next time." Istredd doesn't really care about the divine though. He believes the gods are supernaturally powerful creatures. He thinks it is unnerving what Solvunn does in order to use it, but he's not above doing the same thing for logical reasons. If they had known how to use High Magic before, they might have been able to combat their kidnappers better.

"It may not be the right magic for you to learn here. Try another for a time, see if that suits you better."
