Wylan absorbs what Jesper is saying, he's not surprised Jesper has made friends, probably many friends. People gravitate towards him, it's one of the things Wylan admires about him, how comfortable he is with people. Sometimes Wylan feels like he can barely string a sentence together in a crowd.
