Maybe we only see it as a sport or form of entertainment, but it began from necessity, as most everything else. ['it never had to be fun', she doesn't say, looking at the situation over with the cold and hardened logic that she is bound to work around with.] I can imagine it being relaxing if I was listening to a book or to a song while waiting for a fish to take the bait.

I grew up in the city, so I never did any of this. I remember American commercials and movies with families on boats in a lake fishing. Did you ever do that?
