WELCOME TO SOLVUNN!
WELCOME TO SOLVUNN!
Welcome to Solvunn! Bright suns and merriest of welcomes to you! The portal opens in a vast field on the western side of town surrounded by cattle, with a distant view of the bustling marketplace. The first impression of the settlement is one of idylic, country charm. There are no looming structures or crowded streets. Instead, there are cozier houses on wide streets and community buildings made of stone and wood. A gentle breeze rolls across the field and the sun is high in the sky.
There's not as much magic here as in other locations, but it's there. No one will be stopped from entering Solvunn, though suspicion will be cast upon new arrivals. Citizens will be friendly and welcoming, but curious about their new visitors. It isn't often that they welcome new folks- especially not so many at once!
With tensions between the other communities, Solvunn will not be keen on ratting out those who fled Thorne, but with the knowledge that sanctuary will not be given for free. Everyone does their part, whatever that part may be.
Asking questions will result in being told to find Rowan March, one of the council members, somewhere in the marketplace.

dadguardian. Working in the fields to try to help the older families' farms and get into their good graces (and not doing well at all, but apparently sincerity goes a long way) until they gave their recommendation that he be allowed to stay and get a job as a clerk in the town hall. It's not exactly exciting work, but now he and Kay have a home and he has a job, so it's something. But after he's handled those immediate problems, he's been asked a favor by a friend. He hasn't really met Martin yet, but it's a small town and it's pretty easy to track him down. Phoenix goes to the library, hunting through the (frankly minimal) stacks before finally coming across a man who fits Martin's description.]
Hey there. [He smiles, waving to get Martin's attention.] Martin Blackwood, right?

He gives Phoenix a confused head tilt, sliding one last book into place on the shelf before he puts the remains of his stack down on a nearby table.]
Right, that's me. I, um. I'm afraid I don't know your name, though...? [It's an awkward trail off with a polite, questioning smile.

[And take you into a magical dream land where you'll lose your memory and maybe get powers, but Phoenix isn't going to say it in so many words.]
Did anyone tell you about the Horizon?

[For some reason he feels just a little conflicted about hearing that, despite how relieved he is that someone here actually openly likes Jon.]
Yes, actually, uh. Jon told me quite a bit about it, while we were, uh. W-while we were in jail, so. [He lifts a hand to rub his neck.] He hasn't really shown me how to get there, though, it. Well, it was a bit of a stressful time, a-as you can imagine, we didn't really get much of a chance to... meditate, as it were.

[He puts his hands in his pockets, straightening up.] I'm not exactly an expert on meditation, but I have a connection and I can try to bring you there. It'd make it easier for you to talk to him again, at least.

[Here they are.]
I-is there anything I could do for you, to- to repay you?

Well, uhm. My place isn't exactly great for having company over, not for- for this, specifically, between the kids a-and the attic, uh...
[And then he grins cheerfully.]
Oh- there's that lovely bench by the well just a little ways from here, it's usually empty around now, and it's against a wall so there won't be any chance of falling off it.

[Phoenix looks skeptical, but far be it from him to tell a grown man what to do.] Okay. But remember, your body may be there a while.

[There's a faint flush on his cheeks, a bit of self-consciousness manifesting.]
How long were you guys there for, for your first time?
